Getting to the start line of a world cup race when you have only been mountain biking for 18 months is either a great achievement or a bloody dumb idea.

After hearing rumors about what the course had in store for riders, I was nervous before I even got on the plane to Cairns.  I arrived in Cairns on the Tuesday and registered Wednesday and put off getting out on course until Thursday.
